Up for auction are two exquisite antique Chinese silk 

embroidered  bands with exceptional FORBIDDEN stitch 

hand work. Many of the stitches are done in metallic thread.

The bands are not a match.

The band on left measures : 40" long , 4" wide.

The embroidered design : 18" long.

The band on right: 37" long , 3 1/2" wide.

The design: 18" long.

I acquired  the bands from  a grand old home estate sale.

The original owner had a large  collection of Antique Chinese textiles.

The bands are part  of the collection I purchased.

The textiles have  been stored for decades in a cardboard box.

The bands have been numbered and priced from ages ago.

I have not removed the stickers for fear of tearing the silk.
