Elegant Antique Style Handmade Dress

BACKGROUND This charming large antique doll is marked “Queen Louise, Germany, 13” on the back of her head. Queen Louise Dolls were produced by the fabulous German Doll Artist, Armand Marseille in the early 1900’s.

HEAD Queen Louise has a lovely bisque head and a jointed composition body. Her charming bisque face is very finely made with pretty large gray blue fixed eyes and brown feathered eyebrows. She has replaced upper lashes and finely painted lower lashes.

Our sweet young lady has pretty dark rosy cheeks and orangey red lips. She has a charming open mouth smile with four square white teeth and a cute little dimple in her chin. This special Queen Louise doll has a different look than most early dolls we have seen. She is really a sweetheart!

Her old brunette wig looks wonderful with her pretty blue eyes! The long curls also complement her antique style outfit. Her wig is not attached to her new pate which we added. She has an elaborate antique style bonnet that looks lovely with her long curly hair and pretty dress.

CLOTHING Queen Louise is wearing a marvelous handmade antique style costume. Her lovely vintage silky pink sleeveless dress has a lined pleated skirt. She is also wearing a slightly darker pink wool fitted jacket over her dress. The wool jacket is lined and has a lace trimmed collar with tiny mother of pearl buttons and lace trimmed sleeves and hem. The attached sash is the same pretty pink fabric as her sleeveless dress. This lovely bisque doll is wearing antique lacey bloomers and an eyelet camisole. She has new long white stockings and older black shoes.

BODY Queen Louise has an 11-piece ball jointed composition body. It appears to have been repainted and it is in good antique condition. She can bend at her shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees.

SIZE Our antique lady measures 28 inches tall from head to toe. Her doll stand was just used for photographing her. It is not included in the sale.

CONDITION Queen Louise is in very good partially restored antique condition. She has a darling smiling face with pretty white teeth and gorgeous fixed blue eyes! Her eyelashes are newer and her eyes have been fixed inside her head. There is some wear to her joints and her toes consistent with her age. Her composition body is loosely strung and appears to have been repainted. Her exquisite antique style pink silk and wool costume is in very nice vintage condition. It looks quite lovely on her. This sweet antique doll displays beautifully as you can see from the photos!

BUSINESS, SALES & SHIPPING INFORMATION

OWNERSHIP: The Bill N Peg's Interesting Things eBay store is operated by Bill N Peg's Interesting Things LLC, a limited liability company chartered in the State of Maryland.

PAYMENT: As required by eBay, we list only PayPal as a means of payment.

SALES TAX: We collect a 6% sales tax from Maryland residents on purchases from our store, as we are located in this state.

SHIPPING: We are usually able to ship within 1 business day of payment verification. We ship through the United States Postal Service, and we try to offer our customers the most appropriate postage options. We obtain a tracking number for each mailing.

SHIPPING CHARGES: Our basic shipping charge is set to cover postage and shipping materials, plus a small handling charge. We purchase postal.insurance for more expensive items, and eBay requires Signature Confirmation delivery for items costing $750 or more. In some cases, we will require Signature Confirmation for certain items costing less. We add these costs to the total shipping charge for more expensive listings. If a shipping charge estimate is too high, we refund the appropriate amount to the customer after we have shipped the item and verified the actual cost.

COMBINED SHIPPING: We are usually able to offer combined shipping discounts. Assuming that multiple items can be appropriately shipped in one box, we begin with the charge for the heaviest item and add between $1 and $5 for extra items, depending on weight and additional packing material needed. The added charge could be more for unusually heavy or large items.

International customers: We are happy to offer combined shipping discounts to international buyers. The added charge for extra items can be higher than in the case of domestic shipping due to higher postage rates.

Customers may contact us for combined shipping estimates.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Bidding from international customers is welcome! We accept PayPal payments only from other countries; we do not accept checks or currency. As noted above, we will combine shipping for international customers whenever possible and include the savings in our shipping charge on the invoice. We ship using Priority International Mail through the US Postal Service if a package weighs four pounds or more. When it weighs less, we also offer First Class International as an option. Please be aware that Priority International packages can be tracked while still in the United States, and they can be insured. First Class International cannot be insured, and so the customer assumes a risk for this less expensive choice. Also, please be aware that we do not mark items as "gifts" or report lower sales values on customs forms.

Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

We are happy to have sold a wide variety of items to our international friends and to have received excellent customer satisfaction feedback from them.

RETURN POLICY: Returns are accepted for refund within a 14-day period of the receipt of the merchandise. We will refund shipping charges and return postage when defects or item characteristics were not noted in the original sales listing. In other cases, the refund covers just the purchase price. A returned item must be received in the same condition as when the item was sent.

Most of our transactions are trouble-free, but we suggest you contact us if a problem does arise so we can mutually try to arrive at a satisfactory solution.
