Background of Artist
Laurence Caiazzo called 'Lolochka' - born in Italy in 1957. His work is represented in many modern & contemporary art collections & auctions.
Lolochka is a member of the Art Bell, an art collective Paris created in the 1980s. The name Art Bell is the squat occupied by the group of 15 June 1981 until June 1986, at 6 Rue d' Arceuil , in the 14th arrondissement of Paris bordering the 13th arrondissement in front of the Cité Universitaire Internationale, within walking distance of the residence of artists the Green City. The place was an old depot already occupied, by among others: people of no fixed abode, scrap dealers and vagrants. Offering private spaces and communal spaces & partitioned, the place was shared between the occupants: the homeless occupied the ground and first floor pavement, the artists on the upper floors.
Expelled from the city of Paris in June 1986, the group found refuge in a squat again located 4 rue d'Oran, in the 18th district, until 27 June 1988, in a large repair shop Citroën abandoned.
They founded Art Bell 2, a large space with an area of 5,000 m2 single storey under a canopy supported by a metal frame.

Art Bell 2 but did not last long & the collective of artists were again dislodged on 27 June 1988, to carry out a project to build 135 social housing on this site .

Other members: John Stark; Nicolas Pawlowski; Alexandre Sacha Putov and Henri Schurder
