There are some stains on bottom near the battery compartment and on back of legs. Takes 6 AA batteries (not included). The doll talks, moves and plays games etc. It will even sing a song on your birthday. You can set the date and time. The year only goes up to 2007 (you have to love Microsoft and their planned obsolescence). But this doesn't really effect the operation, other than possibly getting the day of the week wrong. A very lovable and fun doll!
