Authentic antique Dutch ice skates from one of the last Dutch production runs of K.E. De Vries Family of IJlst, Holland. Exclusively manufactured in the early 70's for a small U.S. firm providing speed skates to the U.S. and Canadian Olympic programs. Skates of this type were passed down by family members and became the basic equipment for youth, and the main transportation for the Dutch during winter on frozen canals. Recently found in storage, these skates have steel blades, brass fastened to wooden platforms, leather bindings and traditional orange, yellow, black and white colored laces. This unique find make wonderful trophies, ornaments, or a pair of functional skates. Skates vary in size (+/- half inch) approximately 11" in length.
