A superb manual focus lens with very useful magnification range, ready to work out the box
We have mounted the lens on a Sony NEX-3 and took the two last pictures to show the difference of the zoom range 70mm - 210mm.
Marks on these last two pictures are due to dust on my camera sensor and not caused by the lens
This would be the same as a 140mm - 420mm* on a 35mm film camera.
*Depenant upon sensor size of digital

Use in AV mode for Automatic exposure or M mode for manual exposure
To use manual lenses on Sony NEX camera you might have to select / enable "Release w/o lens" function or "Stop-down" mode in camera menu under settings

· Camcorder: Sony NEX-VG10E, NEX-VG20E, NEX-VG20EH.

The lenses work with manual focusing in aperture priority automatic or metered manual exposure modes, with stopped down metering. You set the aperture on the lens, and the camera sets the shutter speed automatically. Because of the smaller sensor in NEX digital cameras the effective focal lengths are increased by 100 per cent, so a 50mm standard lens provides the same field of view as a 100mm portrait lens on a film camera.

Please note Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions you have on your original supplied Sony lens will not operate correctly while using this adapter, because this lens does not have auto diaphragm or auto focusing.

That old mechanical lenses generally have optics every bit as good as their modern equivalents and with this appropriate adapter you can use it on your Sony NEX mount camera.
Manually set the lens aperture as required.
Use the camera's Av mode for automatic exposure, or Manual exposure for flash or studio work.
