Portato
III is another instrument meant for two-handed tapping. The entire shape was
completely worked out by our customer. The guitar was designed by him for
playing in a seated position, which is the reason for its extraordinary shape.
The guitar’s structural integrity is perfectly balanced as it lies evenly on
the player’s left thigh; therefore the position remains stable during practice
or performance. The body’s shape eliminates the need for locks, strap locks and
other fasteners. The idea behind the design of the Portato III was to obtain
maximum comfort in playing and sitting (similar to classical guitarists). As a
result, playing the instrument is not as difficult as most might think. All
instruments in the Portato line are characterized by a warm, mellow tone and
are well suited to a wide range of music styles – especially classical and
jazz.
