An unusual piece of Victorian Era silverplate also known as quadruple plate. This piece has very little silver left, so please bid knowing you're buying it for the beauty of the design and the unusual motif- a repousse cherub wrestling a stag.

I don't know what this was originally used for. It has interior holes intended for drainage. It may at one time have had an interior liner. Perhaps it was for a plant or butter or caviar? If anyone reading this can tell me please do!
