THIS IS FOR A RIM BRAKE.

"The Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 32 Hole Internal Gear Quick-Release Rear Hub has been developed for both pros and performance oriented hobby cyclists who can appreciate it because of its reliability, perfect single gear ratios, wide range of gears, low maintenance and easy operation; its weight and efficiency are ideal even for pro racing. This hub features a sealed gearbox that ensures reliability and durability even under the toughest conditions. The even increments of 13.6% from gear to gear make it possible to always ride at the performance peak. The overall range makes sure that you have the right gear in every situation. Pure fun is guaranteed. This 14 speed internal gear hub is operated by a twist shifter which shifts simply by pulling separate cables up or down. The indexing of the shifting lies not in the shifter as with common designs, but inside the hub. There is no wear on the indexing system nor need to adjust it.

526% range of gears (equivalent to typical 27Speed MTB derailleur system). 14 Individual gears (no wasted overlaps or duplicates). Evenly spaced 13.6% gear increments. (no sudden big jumps). Ability to shift whilst stationary or under load. Super efficient sealed Oil bath mechanism (95-99%). Adjustment and maintenance free over thousands of miles. Gear positions are indexed inside hub, thus negating critical cable tension adjustments. Precision German engineered (in use Worldwide in the hardest of races and regions.) Super reliable, can be used for virtually all disciplines, including Tandem and Downhill. Lightweight - approx 1.7Kg, but replaces a lot of conventional gear components..."

One of the female bayonet connectors has a rounded off grub screw. You can get these from SJCycles for £15.
Rim has some wear and a couple of dings. I'd be happy to dismantle the wheel and just sell the hub. Just let me know.

Any questions just ask. Collection available from our Byker branch. See our website for details.

About Us

Based in the North East of England, Recyke Y’Bike is a community project that relies on donated bikes from members of the public. Trained mechanics and volunteers work to restore bikes and components ready to be resold or passed on to some of our other projects.

Most of our bikes are sold to the public through our Newcastle based shop. All the profit is put back into the project to cover running costs and to finance the sending of selected bikes to Re-Cycle. Based in Colchester, Re-Cycle send used bikes to Africa to support schools and community health programmes.

Recyke Y’Bike believes that providing affordable, roadworthy transport to the local community is a good way to promote cycling, as well as keeping bikes out of land-fill sites.

We also work to provide free bikes to asylum seekers who often rely heavily on cycling as their main mode of transport.

Aims and objectives

• Reducing isolation in communities.
• Advancing integration.
• Promoting better physical health through cycling.
• Providing employment and training opportunities within the Newcastle and Gateshead area.
• Advancing the education of the public in the safe use, reuse and maintenance of bicycles.
• Recycling bicycles by reconditioning them, saving them from landfills and sending them with Re-Cycle to Africa.
