British Brodie WWII MK.II Belgian Helmet Clone

The end of the Second World War saw Europe rebuilding their destroyed cities and infrastructure. Diverting money from this to produce new, fresh military equipment, especially helmets seemed illogical, however, that's what the Belgians did.

As early as 1949 they began producing their own domestically made British MK.II copy. Nearly identical in everyway, the only real differences were in the materials used. This is an early one, dated on the liner 1949, its a size 56. The green color would make this an army issue. Blue was used for the navy and light blue for the air force. This same color scheme would continue to be used on their next helmet. The US M1 clone. It's introduction in 1953 saw the end of the MK.II's production, relegating them to their new roll in Belgium's civil defense.
