Comfrey Root ( Symphytum officinale L ) Health Embassy

 Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a medium-height, roughly hairy plant with big leaves and bell-shaped, hanging flowers of purple, sometimes pink or white colour. It was originally called Quaker comfrey, cultivated comfrey, boneset, knitbone, consound, and slippery-root.

Comfrey herbal raw material is its root, which is recommended to be used mainly externally.


Decoction: 20-25g of Comfrey Root pour 250ml of water and bring to a boil. Cook for a few minutes until large amounts of mucus are released. Set off from heat, leave to infuse covered for 40 minutes. Fill the linen cloth with the mixture and use it as a compress.

Tincture: 100g of Comfrey Root pour 300ml of 60% alcohol. Leave to macerate for 14 days. After two weeks, filter, pour into a bottle. Apply externally.
