History: Rossi was a well known Italian metal company who began producing ornate and elaborate metalware beginning in the late 1910s. The company first made holloware pieces and than switched to producing flatware silverplated pieces in the late 1920s. The company closed in the early 1950s. The flatware is silverplate which means it is copper or pewter and plated with a silver finish. Rossi never made fine or solid Sterling or 800 Silver flatware pieces. Rossi silver was known for making pieces that had use in barware or as decoration.
