The failure of this plastic gear is a common problem where the mirror cover fails to actuate.

Instead of buying the entire motor assembly, the gearbox can be easily repaired by replacing this plastic gear / cog.

To replace unscrew the three screws holding the white plastic cover in place.

Remove the broken plastic gear and replace with the new one, reassemble but ensure the locating lugs on the gear are correctly positioned for the shaft assembly
