You are looking at a true classic that is part of an estate. This is the McIntosh MR-77 Stereo Tuner. Many people feel this is one of the best units produced when McIntosh was producing some of the best solid state stereo gear. This beauty came from a local owner. It looks like it has been in a time capsule as it is super clean. The spots you see are dust particles. Here are the specs courtesy of Roger Russell's superb website on McIntosh gear:

Cosmetically, it is very nice. Look at the chassis. The chassis has 99.9% of the lettering with very few marks. There is dust that should clean off just fine. There is the typical rust around the fuse holder and some paint on the glass lifting. No feet are included as it was built-in. We are also unsure if the panel behind the glass on the top is original.  

Sonically, it needs work. We could not get the tuner to function and it smelled a bit hot when running. It is being sold as-is as with all electronics of this vintage. We did not attempt to remove the dust or clean it as we felt we would leave it for the next owner.

McIntosh Labs since the beginning, in 1949 has been synonymous with quality and sound production like no other product on the market. McIntosh Amps have served the best, from Pioneers like Les Paul, and Credence Clearwater Revival no other Audio System has added to the history of Entertainment like McIntosh. It was used at events such as Woodstock in 1969 as well. For those who expect the best, there is no substitute. If one expects the best sounds without distortion, and complete control of output of sound, then there is no other choice.

Due to the age and no control over the future use of this item, it is sold strictly as-is as-shown without warranty expressed or implied. You are welcome to inspect this item in person while the auction is running. We are not responsible for any small detail left out of the description as we are a consignment store and not experts on the items we list.

For items sold to Wisconsin residents or picked up locally we are required to collect Wisconsin sales tax. Any item needs to be paid in full within 3 days if paying by PayPal.
