The roman numerals indicate how many stories each building is and each color represents the type of structure. Yellow is wood, brown is stone, pink is brick. The X's through the buildings indicate it is a barn or stable. The brown streets indicate cobblestone while green indicates macadamized pavement and white means it is unpaved. And the light green lines on the map show who the first recorded and original landowners.
