Description

Original BSA A10 THICK FLANGE CYLINDER BARREL, STANDARD BORE, with all 4 CAM FOLLOWERS, in VERY GOOD condition.  This RARE thick flange A10 Cylinder is in very nice shape - has a braize repair on one of the bottom fins (as shown in the photos below), but that's ITNO other chipped, bent or broken fins, NO cracks or damage to crankcase spigots, all threads are good!  BSA part number 67-1210 cast-in upside down on the front base flange, and UK patent number 567029 cast on the back of the pushrod tunnel.  Flange measures approx 12mm thick.  Right cylinder bore measures 2.7540", left bore 2,7543", so right at the nominal standard bore of 70mm, with no measurable taper.  Both bores show clean cross-hatch hone marks, however the left bore does have a defect about 1" from the top, perhaps where the rings sat for many years, so a re-bore to +.020" will most likely be needed.  All four cam followers are still in place, with retaining pin & screws, hardened surface of lifters are polished but not heavily worn.  This cylinder comes with added provenance as a bonus - it will ship in the same box that it came to me in, marked "Bob's A10 STD Thick Flange Cylinder" - this being Bob Raber, long time proprietor of Raber's Parts Mart right here in San Jose.  Correct THICK FLANGE cylinder for all 1955 (I think!) and later A10 twins including Road Rocket, Golden Flash, Super Rocket, Spitfire Scrambler & Rocket Gold Star!  NICE!!!
