This is a lovely example of a solid sterling silver straining ladle.  These ladles are quite unusual, especially in this smaller size.  I have seen these ladles described as 'mint sauce' ladles, but I'm not too sure why that is...

The ladle is clearly hallmarked on the reverse of the handle for London 1929 with the maker's mark of Josiah Williams & Co.

The strainer is slotted into the ladle and has a partial hallmark and the patent number 296612.  When it is removed, the ladle becomes a standard shape for sauce, gravy or cream.

The silver is in excellent condition, with no tears, splits or dings.
