In terms of forest management, the FSC® regulation is the most stringent and social and environmental requirements FSC® are the highest. The "principles and criteria" describe the management rules to be followed in order for forests to respond to the social, economic, ecological, cultural and spiritual needs of present and future generations. They include both management limits and social and environmental needs.

Autoclave treatment

DEFINITION

The preservative (odourless and aqueous) is injected under pressure (about 8 bar) in the wood. The latter is thus permanently protected against the degradation and attacks of xylophagous insects.

 

INTENDED USE:

 This process is recommended for indigenous resinous woods (fir, spruce, pine, etc., ...), which are not sufficiently resistant, for outdoor use, against fungal attacks, lignivorous insects and degradation.   Classe 4: in contact with the ground or fresh water, for example avalanche protection fences and posts, stabilization works, lampposts , buildings on river banks. Classe 3: without contact with the ground, for example facades, acoustic barriers, walls of visual protection, balconies or terraces.

 

PROTECTION EFFECTS:

 Autoclave wood has a service life 3 to 5 times longer than untreated resinous wood.

  

COLOUR:

 After oxidation and fixation, the wood takes a slightly green or brown colour. The brown colour is obtained by adding colouring paste. This is not a covering layer, but a limited duration colour. The colour tone after the impregnant process depends on the salt, the structure of the surface, the depth of penetration of the product as well as the quality of the wood. There is no guarantee of long-term colour stability or uniformity of colour.

STORAGE:

 The impregnated wood must be stored indoors away from dust and dirt and be ventilated.
