The styling of the H-6 is based off of a modified version of the original BENRUS “TYPE 1” models used by the CIA and Navy Seals during Vietnam. The name of the watch was chosen to acknowledge one of the most important events in all of horology… Centuries ago, there was a royal competition to accurately assess longitude on the open seas. This was the age of dangerous seafaring trade where fortunes were won or lost depending on the survival of a ship and crew. John Harrison won the prize by revolutionizing the time keeping craft and developing a series of ever improving clocks, the H-1 through the H-5. Carrying on the tradition, we present the H-6.
This 44mm case (48mm with crown) is crafted in 316L steel. The crown is a complex decorated build in and of itself with enameled anchor sculpted into the surface. Note the very cool weathered finish, giving this watch an immediate rugged appeal. The dial design of course reflects the military legacy of the concept, charcoal color with a subtle rough texture and featuring luminous treatment which presents in a desert tan color in daylight. The red, white (tan), and blue bar just above the center axis is an eye-catching splash of color. In keeping with durability expectations of a military watch, a hardened scratch resistant mineral crystal protects the dial. The bezel is unidirectional and once you try it and experience how smooth the transition is you know you’re enjoying a high end build. Within the case is the rock solid Swiss ISA 608 quartz movement. One of the standout features of this build is that it is assembled in the USA! Presented on sleek chocolate 22mm nylon strap that will easily accommodate a 9” wrist the finished work is tested to 10 ATM water resistance.
