Beautiful and handmade in the USA!
I believe this medal is supposed to be of St Catherine of Siena who was a Dominican nun and mystic and the patron saint of nurses and firefighters. But the medal just says "St Catherine" so it could be one of the many other saints whose name was Catherine. Since it shows a young woman with her head covered, this is just perfect if you are looking for a "generic" :) Saint Catherine of - whatever - single decade rosary!
There is a St Catherine of Alexandria who is the patron saint of mechanics, lawyers, schoolchildren, teachers, and secretaries. Another St Catherine Laboure gave us the Miraculous Medal through her visits from the Blessed Mother. St Catherine of Ricci was a stigmatist and known for miraculous cures of sick people. Let's not forget St Catherine of Sweden, a patron of pregnant women, miscarriages and the unborn. Our American St Catherine Drexel was a philanthropist and the patron saint of racial justice. A number of great women saints that would all be great role-models for today's young women! And there are more!

The 7/8" oval St Catherine medal is new, nickel silver from Italy, with "pray for us" on the reverse. The 1-3/8" silver-toned crucifix was also made in Italy; the chaplet itself was designed and handmade in the USA by myself.
The single Our Father bead is a genuine Czech glass, faceted and fire-polished, in a metallic lavender color called Tanzanite; I added silver-plated filigree caps for extra sparkle. The ten Hail Mary beads are genuine Rose Quartz beads; they are lightly faceted and a very pale pink color - very pretty. All eleven beads are 8 mm in size.
A great gift for any young woman as any one of the St Catherines would be an excellent role model for today's girls, as intelligent and determined women who served God and His people.
