Black / Plain Finish

As "produced' finish on carbon steel products having an oil residue which provides some shelf life but no real corrosion protection when in use. Plain finish with an oil coating, this product is suitable for internal applications only, can be used externally if a coating is applied
Please be aware there are inconsistencies with thread lengths on socket range of product, specifications for this listing have been taken from ANSI B 18.3 ASTM A574 and as such we recommend they should be used as a guide only, we have found variations exist at the point when the thread length on the product is suppose to change from being fully threaded to part thread, part shank. The lengths affected are generally the lengths within the 25 - 50mm long range
Button head socket screws are suitable for many applications, popular due to their low profile head
Socket screws are uniformly threaded screws, meaning they maintain the exact same diameter throughout the entire length of the threaded section of the fastener, unlike wood or chipboard screws which have tapered threads
Socket screws can be used to fasten components together by passing the socket screw through the parts and then threading it into the rearmost component
Our stock is sourced from various manufacturers, therefore differences may exist between batches such as visible stamped head markings, knurls and thread lengths

UNC = Imperial Coarse Thread
BSW and UNC have the same thread per inch value, accept for the 1/2" size. Theoretically it would be possible to interchange them as they have the same amount of threads per inch. However due to the difference in thread angle, the connection would not be as strong as when using the proper combinations
The length of a button head cap screw is measured from under the head to the end of the thread
