OLD Primitive Wooden Slaw Cutter Board WITH Original Sliding Guide Box

This is an old Kraut/Slaw Cutter.  It STILL has its' ORIGINAL wooden sliding BOX with it (which is RARE because usually the box is long gone).  It runs along the board with a sort of tongue and groove  system.  There's a piece of wood missing on one end of the box (pictured) but since the other sides are in place it still works just fine to slide back and forth.

When we found it the wood was old, worn and very dry.  Rick cleaned it up and applied multiple layers of his special bees wax formula to add moisture back into the wood and bring out the wonderful warm patina.

This one still has all of its' original hardware, blades, box and OLD screw head screws.  They would put the cabbage or kraut or other foods in the box and then slide the box back and forth over the blades to "shred" it.

There's  a hanger on the back to allow it to be easily hung.  Someone also added a screw to the other end so that when you hang it you don't have to worry about the box sliding out.

I'm NOT selling this for use as you'd have to totally strip it down and re-finish it and also remove/clean/sharpen and re-do the blades for that purpose (which would lower its value as a collectible old piece).

But as a collectible piece of OLD kitchiana this piece is in WONDERFUL condition.

Measures 23 1/8" long.  9" wide & 4 5/8" deep (WITH the box) and 2" deep (the board itself).   I've provided several high-resolution pictures below for your inspection.

Designers SEARCH for UNIQUE pieces like this.  Would make a beautiful kitchen hang.  WOULD also work as a centerpiece to display serving pieces on and use the box to display things IN.
