Framed antique Bohemian ink drawing of a street in Montmartre in Paris, date unknown, though my guess, judging from the nails and paper backing, is circa 1930, though it might also be midcentury. The decorative paper backing was torn and the artwork had shifted, so I removed it and discovered that this is an ink drawing on a simple thin piece of notebook paper, unsigned, titled “Rue St. Vincent 35.” Though the artist is unidentified, a small label on the back refers to him as a young friend of John Hart, who lived in Rome. Charming depiction of Paris, nicely presented in a red painted wood frame. Artwork measures 7.75” by 5.5”, with total dimensions with frame 12.5” by 10”. Some wear to mat and some scratched to frame, otherwise excellent. A new mat and a firmer situating of the artwork would do wonders. Lovely piece. Single brass clip on back for hanging.
