Illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley and Andre Derain (Second volume signed at rear by Derain)

  • Two (2) large octavo volumes, each measuring ~8 x 11 inches. 
  • Both published by Limited Editions Club in 1938. 
  • Limited edition, these being #608 of 1500 published. 
  • First volume hardcover with pictorial decorative gilt to cover. Spine sunned but title in gilt still legible. 1938 printed in Great Britain, contents in English. Interior contents fine. Pages toned but generally clean and bright. Illustrations excellent. 16 full-page illustrated plates by Beardsley, complete as called for. Endpapers clean but for a few old dealer notes in pencil.  Numerous pages still uncut. 
  • Second volume softcover/printed paper covered wraps, some rippling to covers (see photo). Covers with wear, scuffing and marks, with chipping to paper at spine tips and joints with some loss. 10 color plates, gouache drawings on black paper by Andre Derain. Contents in fine condition. Published in France, text in French. Pages lightly toned but generally clean and bright. Illustrations very fine. Lateral and bottom edges rough. Signed by Derain on limitation page at rear. No slipcase present for either volume.
