Vintage 1940's Canada's McBrine Travel Suitcase Luggage. This hard-sided 100% genuine cowhide luggage is in excellent and fantastic condition for its vintage age and heritage. It measures 8" W x 13" H x 24"L. Tan brown in colour with brass hardware and the McBrine logo. It also boasts Irish linen dividers, made in Ireland. Both leather straps have no issues. Unfortunately, there is no key. The original multi-position wood and metal hanger is complete and intact. There are 2 large interior compartments, a sleeve compartment and two large pocket compartments with dividing clipboards that are held in place with leather straps and snaps. The all leather handle is sturdy. The interior is intact and damage free. In this condition, this is almost a one of a kind item. This is one beautiful luggage and can be fancifully used as one or re-purposed decoratively as a furniture piece. The luggage, made of thick cowhide, is very well made and definitely has some weight to it.

Louis McBrine was a "valise manufacturer" circa 1901. Circa 1911 he was involved in manufacturing trunks. He and his partner, W. G. Cleghorn, founded McBrine Luggage, which from 1905 until into the 1960's was one of the world's largest luggage manufacturing businesses.
