A very fine antique bronze and enamel snuff box ( pill box ).

Europe, likely France, circa 1830.

It is a very unusual antique box, the lid is enamel work, depicting nativity scene, it shows the finding of Moses in the Nile River by the Pharaoh's daughter from the book of Exodus in the Bible. The personages are all in high relief enamel ( guilloché ), which gives more elegance and luxury to the work, in a dark green background.

The base is all dark enamel with gold spots or star color. ( including the bottom of the box ).

From inside, light enamel color, with signature initials monogram L. M ( as shown in photos )

Mounted in a silver plated bronze ormolu frame.
