Splendida riproduzione del distintivo di Assalto della Fanteria grado argento nel modello 1957 della Bundeswehr e conferito per ricompensare i soldati della fanteria che si erano contraddistinti per meriti sul campo di battaglia. La decorazione era destinata a tutti i gradi dei reparti della fanteria appiedata, quindi: fanteria, fanteria motorizzata e reggimenti di montagna.

Criteri di assegnazione:

• aver preso parte a tre o più attacchi della fanteria;
• aver preso parte a tre o più contrattacchi della fanteria, oppure assieme a quanto sopra;
• aver preso parte a tre o più missioni di ricognizione armata;
• essere rimasti coinvolti in combattimenti corpo a corpo nell'assalto ad una postazione nemica;
• aver partecipato in tre giorni diversi alla restituzione di postazioni da combattimento.
