The aim of the 727 Jet Lounge is not only to save a few pounds of aluminum from an energy intense recycling process. The greater goal is to use a beautiful piece of engineering in its original state; to take advantage of its morphology, of its strength and of its history.

So many people have looked at the clouds and dreamed through these windows. Would it not be a shame to turn all the particles of dreams imprinted on these windows into raw industrial material?

The shape of the doors remains the same; the aluminum is polished to reveal every single construction detail. Steel legs are attached to the existing safety brackets on the doors. The doors are positioned so that the curve is soft and continuous. The upper section is upholstered with sexy faux fur. The contrast between the warmth of the fur and the cool aluminum is striking.

The human body rests in a sinuous reclined position. The goal of this piece is to accommodate the user in a totally relaxed mood. The Jet Lounge invites you to watch TV, to have a conversation, use your computer or read a book. Or better yet, it invites you to close your eyes, to look inside, to fly through your interior universe.
