This is a nice collection of ten very well done pieces of comic cartoon artwork Possibly done for a newspaper or Magazine of the period, the artwork is not signed or dated, but looks like it’s from circa 1940s-1950s
the art has been done on seven pieces of hardboard art card measuring 18 inches tall each
the subject matter includes a group of Romans operating a modern day printing press and a lady at a desk with a typewriter
a humorous one of an owner of a second hand bookshop advertising “olde manuscripts bought”, wrestling a skeleton over a document of some sort
a man writing at a desk
The construction of the Sphinx in Egypt with scaffolding around the giant statue
a man sat on top of Mount Chimborazo in Ecuador reading the local Newspaper
Two Romans in a Chariot Race
Two Romans loading the latest edition of a Newspaper onto the back of a chariot
and more
all are pictured
the boards do have some tape marks to edges with some marking, otherwise in good general condition
