Campan Luxury Beret by Laulhere

This Beret is one for the connoisseurs: a top-of-the-range beret made in the Basque country in the traditional way.

The Campan is made from virgin wool and has a distinctive soft brushed texture. The interior is lined in burgundy coloured satin and features a French insignia.

Writing on the label reads:

Beret foulard de luxe
Campan
Impermeable pure laine.
Fabrique en France

The Campan Beret has a leather band with a yellow ribbon and trim, and a fabric braid that neatly adjoins the head-band to the hat. Due to the fine quality of the weave this beret is waterproof.

Laulhere

Established in 1840 by Frenchman Monsieur Lucien Laulhere, the company continue to make wool and angora hats in the traditional way. The berets are made on a knitting loom and each one is shaped and finished by hand. Laulhere remain at the very pinnacle of beret manufacture in the world.   

Sizing 

The primary sizing measurement is taken from the label of the beret. The diametre across the pancake measures French size 9, 9.5 and 10, which is 23, 24 or 25cm. This size will only affect the look of the beret, and not the fit.

The Campan Basque beret comes in true to the size on the label. So a 60cm would actually measure 60cm. We recommend you go half a size below your normal head size when choosing your Laulhere beret to allow for a snug fit.
