When you fish the superb 1.5 acre Jungle carp lake at Martins' Lakes, which is set in 80 acres of unspoilt countryside, you are in for a great angling experience. It is situated in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne and the rural setting means peace and tranquility for you to enjoy your carp-fishing holiday.
Jungle Lake had been stocked with plenty of carp in the 10 - 30+lbs range. The lake also contains some tench to 4lbs and black bass. The fish are fed on a daily basis over the winter to attain maximum growth potential.
The 1.5 acre lake is over 300 years old and surrounded by beautiful mature woodland so it is very quiet and secluded. The maximum depth is about 2m at the dam end and there are plenty of features to fish to. The ideal number of anglers on the lake is two or three, the maximum number of rods being 6, so there is plenty of room to fish without over-pressurising the water.
There is a well-appointed 6.5m caravan which is off-grid (power is supplied by solar panels) with a separate adjacent bathroom which has a shower, basin and loo. The caravan has one permanent large double bed, a pull-out double sofa bed plus one single bed (made by converting the dining area). The kitchen has a large fridge with freezer compartment, gas oven and hob and a sink with hot & cold water. All crockery, pans, utensils etc. are supplied.
The covered terrace is an ideal place to appreciate the lovely views down the lake and to enjoy a meal cooked on the barbecue.
You can either use the cooking facilities in the caravan, or have the food package (details on Specimen Lake page) which will be brought to you by the lake.
In order to make your holiday arrangements as easy as possible we also offer tackle hire (see below) and airport pick-up from either Bordeaux or Bergerac at a nominal extra cost.
There is a rowing boat for you to use, or you can hire a bait boat (a refundable deposit of £50 is required).

- Airport pick-up and drop-off from either Bordeaux or Bergerac airports. We will meet you at the airport and in about an hour you will at the lake and ready to fish.
-Tackle and bivvy hire
- Bait boat hire (refundable damages deposit also required)
- Delicious home-cooked food package (breakfast and 2 course evening meal). Your food will be brought down to the lake so there's no need to disrupt your fishing and we always check what you do or don't like so we can only give you meals you will enjoy!
- Bait also available for purchase on site - boilies, pop-ups, pellet etc.
We will also pick up any shopping or bait etc. you may want and you can come up to the house to take advantage of the free wifi.
