Two School of Nursing Pins, SCARSE Antique Sterling Silver,  Winnipeg General Hospital 1st and 2d Year Student Set, by Birks Dingwall Hallmarked from 1920s

Details: This auction is for the SCARSE SET OF TWO antique sterling silver pins of the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing by Birks Dingwall, made in 1920s. This is a rare complete set of the 1st and 2d year student.

The elegant frosted sterling silver bar flanked with two hearts is the 1st year student pin. It is hallmarked on the back: “BIRKS STERLING” and is 2” long.

The 2nd sterling silver pin flanked with two hearts, featuring royal blue enamel logo of the Winnipeg General Hospital is the 2nd year student pin. It is hallmarked on the back: “BIRKS DINGWAL STERLING”. It is 2” long and approximately 1” across the logo. This pin has the name of the owner engraved on the back.

BOTH PINS ARE EXTREMELY SCARSE ESPECIALLY WHEN COME AS A COMPLETE SET OF TWO!

BIRKS is Canadian high end jewelry company, established in late 19th century and is rightfully equaled to the American Tiffany. BIRKS bought out Dingwall Jewellers of Winnipeg Canada in 1920s and the mark Birks Dingwall was used very short period, during couple years only.
