My art is rooted in my midwestern childhood, but is deeply informed by an adult life spent on the west and gulf coasts, first in Los Angeles and then in Clearwater, Florida. My abstract paintings often evoke the simple serenity of expansive Illinois fields and coastal landscapes. These calm surfaces are accented by a cosmopolitan flair for composition that recognizes the vital movement of life hiding just beneath them. I believe that art is for everyone.
