Stunning antique
silk dress fragment purchased in the south of France. Most likely made
in Lyon. Dating from the late 1800's to early 1900's.
Gorgeous dark navy blue silk. Lovely rose wreath and ribbon motif in tonal shades of gold.
Condition: Wonderful for age and use! No major flaws. Some stitch lines from previous life at the bottom.
I have left in found uncleaned condition for purchaser to choose or not.
Wonderful piece for collector, archivist, designer or hobbyist.

Approximate measurements 6" wide at top 19.5" at bottom 41" long
I have additional pieces of thin including one with the original 20" selvedge edges intact as well as a section of the bodice. Please inquire for availability.
I do my best to accurately describe condition and point out major flaws, but condition is seldom perfect as one would expect from a 100 year old textile. Small marks and flaws should be expected. The timeworn look and signs of their unique history is part of what makes them so charming and special!
