ExhaustMeister™ is a complete plug-n-play controller designed for the BMW (Series 1,3,5,6,7,M5, M6, X) that allows you to remotely open and close the vacuum operated exhaust silencer valve (Active Noise Cancellation) that is located just past the muffler any time you like with NO ENGINE CODES AND NO DRONE! BMW uses this valve to control sound when optimum performance is not needed. When the silencer valve is closed, the exhaust is in quite mode. When fully opened, the exhaust system is in maximum flow mode and therefore is louder as a result. Many BMW owners want a more performance oriented sound from their exhaust without being annoying. After the 10 minute installation, ExhaustMeister™ allows the owner to open & close the valve at will with the supplied remote control or via the native BMW garage door controls! - What is this valve for?
- BMW utilizes this valve to control sound; mainly at idle. Above 3000 RPM’s, the valve will automatically open for best performance.
- Will the ExhaustMeister™ work on my car?
- If you have the exhaust silencer valve on your BMW, it will work. Click here for help determining if you have the required components. The vacuum valves are on several series including the 1,3,5,6,7,M5,M6, & X. It’s very popular with the 135, 335, M5 & M6 crowd!!
- Why not just use the “Golf Tee Mod” or just disconnect the harness?
- For some this is okay, however many people do not want the highway drone that goes along with having the valve(s) open full time. Also, when the harness is fully disconnected, some BMW owners have experienced engine codes being raised and want to avoid this. …And…You cannot impress your friends with those mods, but you can with the ExhaustMeister™!!
- Will the ExhaustMeister void my warranty or cause dealer issues?
- The ExhaustMeister™ doesn’t do anything that will have any negative effects on the car other than increase decibel level. When installed properly there is little evidence of the ExhaustMeister™ however it can easily be removed before any dealer trips if desired.
- How long does it take to install?
- ExhaustMeister™ will install in about 10 minutes and has been designed so that there is not any electrical or mechanic skills required. With the exception of turning a couple of screws, It’s a true plug-n-play product!
- Will ExhaustMeister™ work with my aftermarket exhaust?
- Absolutely! If you aftermarket exhaust retains the the valve, it will work. With louder aftermarket exhausts, ExhaustMeister™ would be of even more benefit since you could quite down the mufflers with the push of a button.
- What BMW models will ExhaustMeister™ work on?

- Are these units safe to install in my BMW?
- Yes! The controller ifself uses very little amperage and all 12 volt connections have been fused for extra safety!
- Will the ExhaustMeister™ cause engine codes?
- Care has been taken to leave all factory wiring in place. To date, we have not seen any engine codes raised from the installation of the ExhaustMeister™.
- Can I program the factory garage door opener in my BMW to control the ExhaustMeister™?
- Yes! When you do this, you will no longer need to use the remote control that came with your ExhaustMeister™. See instructions for how to configure this –> Need Link
