This listing is for TWO (2) REPRODUCTION, MAIN and RESERVE fuel petcocks with all mounting hardware designed for the 1968-77 Norton Commando, 1971 -83 Triumph and 1971 0n BSA models. There are a total of eight (8) parts in this kit. Some part numbers these replace are: 03-3155 Fuel Tap Main (1), 03-1746 Fuel Tap Reserve (1), 83-0006 1/4" BPT lock nuts (2), 06-5329 Sealing Washers (2), 83-0002 Flat Stainless-Steel Washers.
Everything is included to replace your old leaky petcocks, just install and go. These are well made aftermarket petcocks. They look identical to the more expensive OEM petcocks. We have installed and used them on a few of our own bikes with no issues. Like the OEM ones they feature brass filter screens and a brass fuel level tube on the Main petcock. The levers are also pinned with a brass pin. The tap has the standard 1/4" BPT thread. We supply the standard sealing washers with upgraded flat stainless-steel washers to further improve this kit. They will arrive with a protective clear plastic tube over the filter screens. We have a limited quantity available. We also have OEM petcock kits listed in our eBay store.
INSTALLATION NOTES: Do not crank these petcocks in hard if they do not screw in easily. They are hollow at the lever area and can break in half by over exerting. Check the threads in the tank, make sure they are in good shape and are not corroded. Old bikes, with old steel fuel tanks tend, to get rusty at the lowest point. The tank threads sometimes require retapping. Use penetrating oil and a nylon brush to clean the threads inside the tank. DO NOT use a steel brush as gasoline fumes are explosive. Coat the petcock threads and/or the tank threads with a light layer of anti-seize compound. Screw in gently and adjust the washers.
