This is an original 1953 Westlake, Los Angeles, California Sanborn atlas map with updates to 1957. It is double sided with Plats 70 and 71 and includes Business Mens Art Institute, Hotel Bellevue, A.F. of L. Teamsters Union Office, Roman Catholic Archdiocese and other historic buildings, parks and structures.

Plat 70 covers from: W. 9th Street to W. 11th Street and from S. Bonnie Brae to Beacon.

Plat 71 covers from: W. 9th Street to W. 11th Street and from Beacon to Grattan.  

Each color represents a different type of building.  Pink is Brick; Yellow is Wood and Brown is Stone.  Square box with an X = Garage, Stable or Shed.  See key for what all the symbols indicate.
