A rare chance to obtain a Lord Home (Alec Douglas-Home) former Prime Minister (1963-64) hand signed Front Day Cover 'Britain Declares War 50th Anniversary' JS50 series. Signed in 1989.

He was the last Lord to become Prime Minister - within days of taking up the PM post he resigned his Lordship as in the swinging sixties was no longer acceptable for an aristocrat to be Prime Minister. Lord Home's short period in Office was at the height of the Cold War and it was during his tenure that the assassination of JF Kennedy took place. The link to the Front Day Cover is that Home was the PPS (right-hand man) to the Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain and his policy of 'Appeasement' in the outbreak of war. Indeed, Home was with Chamberlain at the infamous 2nd Munich Agreement ("Peace in Our Time").

The signed Cover comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the AFTAL approved memorabilia specialists Chaucer Covers.
