Cast Iron REproduction Victorian Style White Mailbox

PLEASE NOTE:  This is cast after the old-style mailboxes that used to hang on the old colonial-style homes.  The mail people used to receive wasn't NEARLY as big as the mail we get today.  This will NOT work well as a working mailbox.  The bigger sized envelopes....magazines.....and simple VOLUME of mail sent today.... just won't fit into it.  Most of the people who buy these from us are using them as decorative pieces on their colonial style homes.  Some use them as "message" or "suggestion" boxes.  Any number of possible uses.

It has TWO flaps that open and close (see the pictures below).  Please note: while it has a little closure on the front that LOOKS like you could put a lock through it, it's not big enough and doesn't line up well enough to actually use a lock with this.  Again, it's really only there for "looks".

The ENTIRE piece.....top to bottom...measures 11 3/4" Tall & 6 1/2" wide.  The interior (top to bottom) is 8" tall.  The interior when you open the big flap and measure from the front opening to the bottom is approx. 6".  The interior width of the box is 4 1/2".  The interior depth front to back is 1 7/8".  NICE....HEAVY piece at right at SIX POUNDS.  Built in mounting hole.
