Two crew members are found dead at the secret government base Erebus in Antarctica. Captain Sam Cage and Major Callie Wilson are supposed to investigate the mysterious traces of the case. When they arrive at the mining base, they make another gruesome discovery. The operations manager lies frozen in the deep snow. Sam refuses to radio for help until the investigation is complete. The next morning, Callie gets ready to descend into the mine. On a monitor, Sam can see Callie suddenly being dragged into the mine. Apparently she died instantly. Suddenly Sam is confronted with his end: those who were believed to be dead return from their graves and start hunting him. In order to save his own skin, he must face the emissaries of Satan face to face...
