The Reference Optical Quartz digital cable from QED is a highly unique product, it is a superior toslink optical digital audio cable constructed with real glass. With this cable you can connect a CD or DVD Player, a Digital TV Box and a Games Console to your AV Amplifier or Receiver, Stereo Amplifier and a DAC.

The Reference Optical Quartz is crafted with 210 separate boro-silicate glass fibres. This cable gives you the experience of stunning sound when connecting DAC's, TV’s, CD players and Blu-Ray players to amplifiers or receivers, due to it having double the bandwidth and only 1/10th of the attenuation of traditional acrylic fibres. The Reference Optical Quartz cable easily exceeds the demands of high-definition multi-channel digital signals with a bandwidth of up to 12MHz which is totally unaffected by the cablle being bent.

The Glasscore™ technology developed by QED uses multiple fibre bundles of ultra-fine boro-silicate glass optical fibres (GOF) that are not more than 50um each to make up the 1mm diameter necessary to conform to the Toslink standard connectors. Since as the fibres are so very small the different paths taken by the light rays are similar in length virtually eliminating the timing error and giving less distortion and jitter. 

This cable easily exceeds the demands from high-definition multi-channel HD digital audio and 24/192 files. In comparison to regular optical cables, it is completely unaffected by bending the cable. 

QED calculated that the Jitter or distortions caused by timing errors between the different light paths in regular optical cables could typically reach up to 145ps. In Reference Optical Quartz, the timing errors are virtually eliminated, meaning less distortion, jitter and ultra low loss < 0.03 dB/m.

We ship all our orders from depot in the heart of Birmingham.
We provide FREE next day delivery on all of our UK orders, so long as you complete your order before 2pm (Monday - Thursday, Excluding Bank holidays).  Orders placed on a Friday morning will be delivered on the Monday. Orders placed after 2pm Friday will be dispatched on the following Monday.

  • For our UK orders we use DPD Couriers (Next Day Delivery) who provide a personal tracking numbers with a one-hour delivery slot on the day of delivery. For smaller UK orders we use Royal Mail (1st Class).
  • For our international orders we employ eBays Global Shipping Programme (GSP). Which is highly recommended for its costs and efficiency. All the international orders are sent to a GSP depot here in the UK, before onward international shipping. You will get emails updating you on the progress of your order throughout the delivery process

We do not allow local pick-up for eBay orders, but if this is necessary please contact us prior to making your purchase and we can make arrangements for you.

For combined shipping you will need to add the items to your basket before paying for them, and then we will send them out together. For international orders eBay GSP calculates the shipping cost, which normally charges extra for additional items based on weight.

  • We will always aim to do the best to resolve any issues
  • We will only pay the return delivery costs if the item was delivered wrong or it is faulty out of the box.
  • Any valid purchase made from us that carries a warranty, is ONLY valid in the UK. Therefore, if you have any problem that is covered by your warranty, you will have to return the item to us in the UK, at your cost.

For Returns:

  • The returns process must be started within 30 days of your initial order.
  • We ask all items that are returned to us be wrapped in outer material (brown paper, plastic, clear wrap, black wrap or anything similar) complete with their original packaging.
  • Any items that are damaged or have parts and accessories missing will be subject to a re-stocking fee or in some cases even rejected.
  • Please ensure you contact us before returning the item to obtain a returns reference.
  • You must also ensure you include your name, eBay ID, and the reason for the return; it will speed up the refund process.
  • All of the refunds are processed with the same payment method as the original purchase.
