What is roaming?Roaming is being able to use your phone outside the UK to make calls, receive texts and stay connected to your friends and family by sending and receiving data. Can I roam with my goodybag?Yes. You can roam in the EU and selected destinations. This means that making calls, sending texts or receiving data will work just like they do in the UK. If you use up all your goodybag’s data while roaming, you’ll be charged our standard pay as you go rates.

How do I buy a goodybag or add credit while abroad?Just head to giffgaff website, it’s free to access no matter where in the world you are, even if you’ve run out of credit or your goodybag’s expired. How can I manage roaming charges?Roaming charges can build up. If you're worried, we recommend switching your phone to flight mode or turning off roaming when outside the EU and selected destinations. How do I check my balance while abroad?Just punch in *100# on your phone, and we’ll show you how much credit you have left. It’s free of charge.Which countries are included in "EU and selected destinations"?

Here is a list of countries where roaming is included as part of the giffgaff service

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden

What if I can't find the country I'm visiting? That means you won’t be able to roam in that country, as we don’t have any roaming agreements in that destination.

FAQsWhat will I need to activate my SIM?

To activate your SIM, you’ll need a credit/debit card, or a top-up voucher.

Once you’ve activated your SIM pop it into an unlocked phone and you’re ready to go.

How do I activate with a voucher?

Pop in your activation code and follow the quick, easy steps to activate your SIM. On the payment page, select voucher and enter your 16 digit voucher code.

Can I keep my old phone number?

Sure thing. We’d love to bring your old number to giffgaff. After you’ve activated your SIM, we’ll give you a link to transfer your old number. You’ll just need your PAC code from your previous network.

Can I swap my SIM?

If you're already a member, swapping your SIM will let you use a different SIM if yours is the wrong size, missing or faulty. Enter the code from your new SIM and click "Activate your SIM". On the next screen, log in with your giffgaff member name or phone number.

Can’t find your activation code?

No worries. You can enter your 13 digit SIM serial number, which is located on the back of your SIM card, before "4Ggg4". In some cases, this may be 16 or 19 digits.
