Kurt Cobain's Mosrite Gospel MKIV

Purchased in San Francisco in 1990, Kurt first used this Mosrite Gospel on stage at the Hollywood Palladium on 17 August that same year.
Originally a right-handed model, an extra strap button was added to allow Kurt to play it left-handed. He also used white correction fluid to make the fret marker dots larger so they could be seen more easily on stage.
This Mosrite Gospel is reputed to have been one of Kurt’s favourite guitars and was one of only two genuine Mosrite’s that he owned. Despite being used in live performances until the summer of 1991, it survived relatively unscathed.
Kurt eventually sold the guitar to a Los Angeles pawn shop and since his death it has been sold at auction, realising $131,000 in 2006.

The illustration of this famous guitar is original and has been produced by George Morgan following extensive research.
