I offer to Your attention Rare Soviet men’s precision wristwatch VOLNA, which were produced by Tschistopol Watch Factory in 1950s. VOLNA means ‘WAVE’ in Russian. This watch is one of the best Russian wristwatches ever made. This is very accurate watch which keeps constant time in any  temperature deviation. Tschistopol Watch Factory located in city Tschistopol, on the Kama River in the central region of the Soviet Union (800 km east of Moscow) and was founded in autumn of 1941 when evacuation of Second Moscow Watch Factory was began.

During the years of II World War factory produced watches for usage of navy, aviation and tank industry. After the end of II World War, in peace time factory mainly produces mechanical wristwatches, which become it’s main production.

            In 1949 the manufacturing of the watch 'Pobeda' (Victory) with a side second hand began. The "Pobeda" movement was based on the well known "Lip" R26. The name, design and characteristics of these watches were personally approved by Iosif Stalin himself. 

            On the international Milan`s exhibition in 1952 year Tschistopol wristwatches first got wide confession and popularity.

            In 1965, the factory became an official supplier of the Soviet Union Ministry of Defense.

            In 1950s the manufacturing of the precision wristwatch 'VOLNA' and 'WOSTOK' with the central second hand began. This fine wristwatches produced only five years, due to the high production cost and high retail price (almost 50% of the average monthly salary). The creation of this outstanding chronometer was clearly inspired by the legendary ZENITH chronometer Cal. 135, which was launched by LeLocle, Switzerland in 1948, and is highly valued nowadays by the watch collectors and watch enthusiasts worldwide. If you are familiar with ZENITH Cal. 135, You will notice some striking similarities: very large screw balance wheel, fine timing regulation mechanism, plates layout, large and powerful mainspring, oversize jewels, etc.

 The movement is very rare. All production of this precision watches was under the strict control. In 1968 these watches received Big Gold Medal on the Leipzig Fair. The Soviet copy of Zenith cal.135 has been obtained even better of it`s original. Watch have 22 rubies (2809 precizion cal.), balance is shock resistant. This is one of the famous soviet watches.

This watch was made when Russia was the Soviet Union, not a modern copy.
