Timing belts enable synchronous positive-fit power transmission in car engines. Their function: To drive camshafts, injection pumps, balancer shafts and other ancillary components. The high quality of the Continental timing belts provides great performance.

Timing Belts by ContiTech are highly durable and resistant to extreme temperatures. The fiber-glass tensile member ensures optimum tensile strength. The tensile members are twisted in opposing directions (anti-clockwise/clockwise), which ensures that the belt cannot twist out of shape.

- Timing belts should never be kinked! If the sensitive fiber-glass tensile member in the interior breaks, the belt can tear while the engine is running.
- Instructions on fitting, storage and replacement intervals should always be followed.
- The product name indicates the number of teeth: For example, a belt designated 158 Z therefore has 158 teeth.

Continental kits contain the relevant components required to change the belt properly. Kits are made up of a Timing belt, Tensioning pulleys, idlers or guide pulleys depending on what your model of car needs (Please check continental-engineparts.com for additional product information if needed).

Timing belts are subject to aging and wear. They therefore must be regularly checked and replaced. The checking and replacement intervals are always specified by the vehicle manufacturer and must be complied with.
