Sitting for long periods of time creates pressure on the spine which can distort spinal curves and compress discs, causing pain and discomfort. A lumbar or lower back support cushion helps to promote good posture, supporting the natural inward curve of the lower back by simply filling in the gap between the lumbar spine and the seat and taking the excess load from the back muscles. These cushions can be used as a preventative measure against back pain or alternatively to ease existing back pain whilst providing enough compression and support for the lower back to allow healing to occur.
