DESCRIPTION

This is not the cheapest coil stiffener on eBay, that are usually printed at low quality at a high speed to keep the cost down on print time.
All my units are 3D printed with quality in mind and without cutting corners on quality.
Stiff
  • A. Full span inner support for maximum rigidity that some other types do not provide.
  • B. Direction to front of coil arrow for fitting correctly.
  • C. Extra lateral side supports.
  • D. Internal cable tie management with extended side grips to encapsulate the coil body and dissipate lateral loads.
  • E. Recessed coil bolt protection allowing use of standard coil bolt.
  • F. Extra wide strong coil lug supports.
  • G. 8mm coil bolt hole size.
  • H. Fully encapsulated coil mounting covers.
    • When you are detecting you swing your coil left to right and the side of the coil takes the brunt of any contact, be it stubble, stone or plough etc.
    The original stiffener as illustrated above sits flat on top of the coil body and is retained in place by the coil bolt only, so any side impact on the coil body still puts the impact through the coil lugs at the point they are molded to the coil body.
    This means that the inertia from the swing is still at the bottom of the coil lugs and stressing them on any impact to the coil.
    With all this in mind I have developed the MK6 that takes all this into consideration with several innovative solutions to deal with the load issues.
     
    A broken coil yoke already?
     
    Disassemble the coil from the steam and put the stiffener in place, and secure around the coil body with the 2 cable ties.
    Reassemble the coil back onto the shaft placing the broken yoke tab in place to get the right spacing between the shaft end and the inner face of the coil stiffener.
