English Sterling Silver Tea Pot Hot, Water Kettle with Stand with Stand & Heat Lamp Hallmarked J.E.W. & J. Banard c1870 -71

Presented is a fantastic English sterling silver tea pot, or hot water kettle hallmarked for silver produced by J.E.W. & J. Banard datemarked c1870-71. I have posted pictures of my research in the photos above.

This Elegant Neo-Classic kettle has a refine armorial crest on the round basin that is topped by a winged angle with a Latin inscription in a surrounding banner of Per Scalam Ascendimus or translated to “Durring the Climb” with a mixed letter HI below a ladder in the center. The basin has a chased and engraved floral bouquet in oval cameos with a hinge pin lid with a ball topped disc finial beneath a high arched handle that has only a slight wiggle with bone white stays to prevent heating of handle all resting on a three-legged stand with attached chains from base with pins allowing for a tippable pour above a light able warmer with included wick.

It is in stunning condition with only a few minor pin-prick dings, a scratched identity or stock mark next to hallmarks on the bottom of pieces and some fine scratches from gentle use and care. This kettle has a great design with hallmarks on all 3 pieces. It holds an astounding 14 cups of liquid comfortably with no leaks and is item for display or for everyday use for the most discerning silver collector.
