***ORIGINAL*** HANDMADE BUTA TIBETAN SHAWL

Woven from the finest of very high altitude low micron Tibetan wool, this exquisite never worn or used handmade shawl features an intricate buta (bud) design in shades of brown and cream.

The buta design frequently referred to as the “Kashmiri cone” originates from Persian and Mughal influences. A similar yet more well-known design is paisley which is the Indian tear-drop shaped motif. The name paisley received its name from the Scottish town bearing the same name. As the demand for buta designed shawls proliferated during the eighteenth-century, Paisley became the center for English textile production.

This soft and luxurious shawl is incredibly generous in size (230cm x 260cm) yet deceivingly lightweight (660g) attributable to its low micron wool count. The impeccable craftsmanship and delicate tassels command the attention of the most discerning individual.

Cherished by the upper echelons of society then and now, this extraordinary shawl is a rare collectible reserved for the most distinguished investor and collector.
