If you are a collector, this is a real treat. It is a first issue of UFO’s Obsession on CD from 1988 prior to the transition to Capitol. Overall condition is Very Good with some imperfections on the jewel case and some very slight surface wear on the CD (pictured). For this reason, I’m listing it as Very Good and not Mint. It is a used CD. All original contents included. Kept in a clean / dry environment. CD tested and works great! Buy with confidence!

If you love UFO, you know that this was their last studio album with Michael Schenker. And you probably know all about their history with Chrysalis Records. If so, this is your chance to add an ultra rare item to your collection.

For anyone who doesn’t know the history behind Chrysalis, in 1989 Thorn EMI (Capitol) bought a 50% interest in Chrysalis Records, completing the buyout two years later. Just prior to that in 1988, as they were closing the deal, Chrysalis transitioned distribution from Columbia to Capitol. CDs produced with catalog numbers staring with “VK 4” were produced before the transition. After the transition, CD catalog numbers began with “F2 2”.

This Album carries the catalog number VK 41182, and so was produced before the transition. Copies made after the transition would carry the catalog number F2 21182. They were made from the same audio masters, however copies with the earlier “VK 4” numbers are considered more collectible / desirable because they were produced first.
